  • 1987: Acquisition by Groupe Vidéotron
  • 1988:
    • Incorporation of the Protectron subsidiary

    • Establishment of headquarters in Montreal

  • 1990 to 2000:
    • Rapid residential and commercial sales growth

    • Acquisition of security companies, including Security 24 Monitoring Network in Ontario

    • End 1999: more than 100,000 subscribers

  • 2001: Purchase of Protectron by Wellspring Capital Management LLC
    • Protectron becomes the largest privately owned Canadian electronic security company.
  • 2002: Acquisition of Protection One, the Canadian subsidiary of the second largest security company in the United States
    • Major increase in customers with an additional 40,000 subscribers, primarily in  Ontario and British Columbia

    • Expanded operations with the opening of offices in Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver

    • Part of the elite group of national security providers in Canada

  • 2005: Start of partnership with Reliance Comfort Limited Partnership
    • Reliance assumes the financial, service and asset risk on essential home and business products 

    • In addition to security services, Reliance offers Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) products and service to more than 1.5 million residential and commercial customers.

  • 2007: Purchase of VOXCOM Security Systems
    • Increase from 200,000 to more than 350,000 security services customers

    • Extension of its national security services coverage in Central and Western Canada

  • 2010: Launch of interactive services
    • Notably remote control and home automation services 
  • 2011: Launch of interactive services for the commercial sector
    • Notably remote video monitoring
