WE WATCH
OVER YOU DAY AND NIGHT

Over the past 5 years, Reliance Protectron has invested millions of dollars in a fail-safe technological infrastructure. Protectron boasts a national network of four monitoring centres that use the same operating software and are linked by a fibre-optic network. Each centre can act as a backup in the event of a disaster elsewhere (ice storm, flooding, major power outages, etc.)-guaranteeing uninterrupted service at all times.

Certified by Underwriter's Laboratories of Canada, our remote monitoring centres are unquestionably among the most effective security facilities in North America. No matter what the circumstance, one of these high tech fibre-optic-equipped centres is always standing by to ensure your protection 24 hours a day. In case of need, you will be contacted immediately by an operator specialized in the specific procedures of your sector (residential, commercial, industrial, or institutional) and who can help you in your own language. No other monitoring network in Canada can offer such peace of mind! Not all remote monotring centres are equal. Protectron constantly invests to improve its service.

ULC-certification

ULC-certification means that Protectron remote monitoring centres meet all Underwriters' Laboratories of Canada standards.

Protectron Puts Quality First

Of course, quality service demands top-notch operator training. All employees dealing with customers have an in-depth understanding of the operating software and procedures. Each employee undergoes technical training to learn how to provide customers with clear instructions on how to arm and disarm their security systems. All new employees are teamed up with a mentor until they can work independently. It’s not just a matter of customer service, but your security as well. An alarm is not to be taken lightly. A person's life may be in danger.

5-Diamond Certification
Managed security services

The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) is a trade association that represents providers, users, bureaus, and other agencies of Central Station protection services certified by a CSAA-approved Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), such as UL and/or FM.

It is legally entitled to represent its members before Congress, regulatory agencies on the local, state and federal levels, and other authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) over the industry.

CSAA’s Five Diamond Certification testifies that 100% of our monitoring-centre operators have achieved proficiency and certification by passing the CSAA Central Station Operator Training Course Level I. This course covers virtually all phases of central station communications with customers as well as law enforcement, fire, and emergency services’ communications centres. This critical area of communications is the life-saving link between residential or business properties and law enforcement, fire, and emergency services at the local level.

To achieve Five Diamond Certification, each and every operator must not only pass the course, but demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in alarm verification, which helps to reduce false alarms;
  • Proficiency in communications with Public Service Answering Points, such as the emergency 911 centres;
  • Knowledge of electronic communications equipment, including radio;
  • An understanding of the codes and standards of such organizations as Underwriter Laboratories, Factory Mutual, the National Fire Protection Association, and others; and
  • Proficiency in the area of emergency preparedness for a wide range of possible scenarios.

For additional information on Five Diamond Certification, please visit the CSAA website.

Personalized Service and Fast Response (your system's invisible but vital component!)

When your security system is triggered, every second counts. The monitoring centre identifies the source of the problem and quickly sends you the help you need (police, fire department, or emergency response).

Responding to an Alarm

Here’s how we respond to an alarm:

1. Your security system sends an alarm signal.

Our monitoring centre is alerted the moment your security alarm is triggered and our operators intervene immediately.

2. Our team of operators receive the signal.

3. Our computer systems indicate us the precise location where the alarm was triggered. We follow the response instructions in your personal identification file.

4. An operator will either contact you or the appropriate response service, or both. The operator will call you to confirm the situation and process the call according to the instructions you previously provided.

How to Avoid False Alarms
Managed security services
  • Be sure your doors and windows are tightly closed before you leave home.
  • Anyone who has access to the property when the system is armed must have a password or pass number and be familiar with the alarm procedure.
  • If you have a pet, or are thinking about getting one, be sure your security system is equiped with a pet detector, which is capable of distinguishing it from a possible intruder.

Caution: Customers are responsible for false alarms, and in a number of municipalities the police may charge a fee for coming to your premises. Make sure you thoroughly understand how to operate your security system. Consult the User’s Manual or contact us.
