“In 2008, we had an attempted break-in. We were vacationing and our neighbour got a call at 11:45 p.m. that our alarm had been activated and a basement window was showing to be the entrance area. The motion sensor, inside the basement, had not been activated. When our neighbour checked the back window, sure enough, the screen had been removed and the window pried open. He called the police and they agreed that the sound of the alarm must have frightened off the intruders.
That same night, only a couple of hours later, and reported in all the local news, was the story of our local highschool being vandalized. The neighbourhood grapevine also told of a home, one block between our home, and the vandalized high school, which had also been vandalized.
We can't prove it, but we feel quite certain our home would have been trashed as well if it were not for our alarm system.

Back in September 2009, while we were getting ourselves together for a three month trip to Australia and New Zealand, we had a nagging concern about what might happen if the furnace stopped working while we were gone. We had made arrangements for a home sitting-service to check our place every two days, but 24 hours without heat can create serious problems in 20 to 30 below zero temperatures. A monitored security system was the best answer, but who? Google to the rescue! We wanted a local company with a good reputation and Voxcom was well regarded. Got in touch with them five days before we were due to leave and had the system installed and working two days later - amazing service. We were a bit concerned with service levels when Reliance Protectron absorbed Voxcom, but these concerns have gone away.
The service feature we find most reassuring when we travel is e-mail notification of system status changes. They keep us assured that our home sitting-service is looking after our place. We know when and how long the house sitter was at our house. On one occasion, a visit was missed and we were able to check into it via e-mail. The security system gives us tremendous peace of mind when we are traveling.”

Dear Sir or Madam at Protectron,
On the night of November 13, I was away hunting. My wife Cindy didn't know what the alarm was for. Tammy, one of your agents, answered the phone and asked Cindy if there was a local (non monitored) carbon monoxide detector in the house. Cindy said, ''Yes,'' and unplugged it. The alarm stopped. Cindy said thanks and went back to bed.
Realizing the danger, Tammy called Cindy back, but got no answer. She immediately dispatched emergency services. They arrived at 4:00 AM and woke Cindy by banging on the door. The CO levels in the house were so high that had it not been for Tammy's quick thinking, I would've found Cindy dead in her bed.
We have since then put a carbon monoxide detector with a battery backup monitored by Reliance Protectron. Also, we had the furnace inspected: it had a split heat exchanger that was allowing CO gas into the heat ducts.
